Education
Bioenergy studies include plant biology, agricultural sciences, biomass science, biotechnology, forestry and ecology as well as environmental and agricultural economics and development studies.
For future students, the following BSc programmes will be the most relevant if you want to work with energy from plant biomass in the future:
For current BSc students, the following MSc programmes will be the most relevant to choose in your further studies:
Recommended courses
Students who take the recommende courses will get a good basis for specializing in bioenergy studies in e.g. an M.Sc. thesis.
All course descriptions can be found in the Course Information at the Faculty of Life Sciences. The course name indicates the language of the course. Please contact the course responsible for further information on the courses.
Recommended courses with a bioenergy content:
From Plants to Bioenergy - 250075
This international course is based on the premise that demands are set by EU and globally for utilization of bioenergy in transportation by converting lignocellulosic biomass into ethanol and other liquid energy carriers.
Forest Products - 310038
The course provides an overview of the use and properties of wood and other forest products, including wood as an energy source. Wood is the most important type of biomass for energy in Denmark.
Introduktion til bioteknologi – 240055
Introduction to biotechnological disciplines in industry and at the faculty. The project can be made within the topic of bioenergy.
Plant Genetics and Biotechnology - 240068
Summer Course Week 33 og 34
An advanced theoretical and practical introduction for non-plant science students and natural resource students. Ongoing plant biotechnology research will demonstrate the use of model plant species for understanding fundamental plant specific biochemistry and genetics and the application of biotechnology in crop plants.
